AP Physics C Summer Assignment 2016

Things you need to do before you leave for summer break:

  1. Add your contact information to the Google Sheet ( https://goo.gl/lqMutZ )
  2. Follow me on twitter (@tigerphysics)
  3. Add yourself to the GroupMe message ( https://goo.gl/WbfDoi )
  4. Check out an AP Physics C textbook from the Media Center (Knight, Physics for Scientists and Engineers w/Modern Physics, 3e)
  5. Set up your MasteringPhysics account using the information below.

Setting up MasteringPhysics accounts
  • Go to PearsonSchool.com/Access
  • Use the following code to register :
SSNAST-SNELL-FINCH-BOTAN-LAPIS-RULES
  • First paste “SSNAST” into the box on the screen
  • Then click the down arrow below covered titles to show the subjects
  • Click the down arrow below “Science”
  • Click the book titled “Knight, Physics for Scientists and Engineers w/Modern Physics, 3e”
  • Click “Student Registration”
  • Click “I Accept”
  • Do you have a Pearson Account
    • Click “NO”
    • Create a login name using this format “LastName16” so I would be McChesney16
    • Create a password (I suggest your lunch code)
    • Paste or type in the access code in
      • (SSNAST-SNELL-FINCH-BOTAN-LAPIS-RULES)
      • Class code "tigerphysics16"
Things to do this summer:
  1. Read chapters 1 & 2 in the book and summarize the information. You can do this by writing it out in paragraph form or using bullet points. Make it so it will be useful to you at the end of the year when we review for the AP Physics C exams.
  2. Complete the 3 assignments before the start of next school year. If you have trouble or questions tweet, groupme message, or text me. My contact information is on the google sheet.
  3. I suggest you watch with a partner the Khan Academy videos on Taking Derivatives (https://goo.gl/6PdgOK) and Integrals (https://goo.gl/sVYBY1) and discuss what they show you.
